Advans Côte d'Ivoire
Advans Côte d’Ivoire strives to deliver excellent customer service and make quality financial products at low tariffs available to MSMEs
History and vision: Advans Côte d’Ivoire is a microfinance institution registered by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Côte d’Ivoire. Created in Abidjan in July 2009 and opened in 2012, Advans Côte d’Ivoire’s mission is to offer credit and savings products as well as other related financial services to MSMEs in Côte d’Ivoire. Although microfinance has benefitted from the support of the government over the past 30 years, the MSME market in the country remains underserved. Advans Côte d’Ivoire strives to bridge this gap through delivering excellent customer service and making quality financial products at low tariffs available to MSMEs. Its ambition is to become the leading MFI in Côte d’Ivoire.
Network: Since the MFI opened its doors in Abidjan on 14 March 2012, it has grown to cover several areas of the city, with further expansion outside of Abidjan planned from 2014 on, starting with Bouaké, where a branch was opened in June this year.
Services: Advans Côte d’Ivoire offers a wide range of loan products for micro entrepreneurs and SMEs, and, on the deposits side, current and savings accounts and term deposits. It also proposes Western Union transfers, SMS alert services and insurance. In 2012, Advans Côte d’Ivoire launched a Cocoa loans scheme in conjunction with the WCF Cocoa Livelihoods Program, which aims to provide loans to cocoa farmers to facilitate their access to credit for fertilizers and to help contribute to the development of the cocoa sector in Côte d’Ivoire.
