Equality at Advans: IWD 2021 series: 1

Advans is talking about equality, the challenges women face in terms of accessing financial services and the achievements of its female staff in a series of interviews across subsidiaries to celebrate International Women’s Day 2021. Have a look at what Long Sophana, Customer Service Supervisor at Amret had to share below.

What is your greatest achievement at Amret?

My greatest achievement has been developing my capacities and growing professionally: I started my career as a Customer Services Officer and evolved to the position of Customer Service Supervisor. I have also been actively involved in achieving Amret’s long term strategy going forward.

Why is equality important? How have you seen equality evolve within Amret since your arrival?

I think equality is really important as it enhances transparency, respect and trustworthiness regardless of gender. It is also a key factor in creating balance in the institution and encouraging cooperation which can help the institution to achieve its goals.

Ever since I started working at Amret, I have seen the company putting a special focus on transparency and ensuring equality among all staff.

How can women support other women at Amret at staff and customer level?

I always try to encourage my female colleagues to feel strong and capable by sharing my personal experience whenever I think it could help them with challenges they are facing.

Regarding supporting our female clients, I always try to see things from their perspective in order to provide suitable advice and offer them services, best adapted to their personal situation. I encourage women, whether they be staff or clients, to push their boundaries and take on challenges because women and men are capable of achieving the same things.
