Advans’ subsidiaries in Ghana and Tunisia stand out with their CSR actions

Advans’ social goals play a central role in our subsidiaries’ daily actions. Find below some of the latest examples of their commitment to raising awareness of social and environmental issues amongst employees, clients, partners and the communities in which we operate.

Advans Ghana awarded for its CSR activities

Advans Ghana received the Best company award in the “Charitable Given” category at the 2019 Sustainability & Social Investment Awards on 29th November during an official ceremony at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra. This award is given for Corporate Social Responsibility activities conducted by the institution in 2018-19. It demonstrates Advans Ghana’s long term commitment to focusing on key environmental and social issues and giving back to the community.

An example of the institution’s activities included a tree-planting initiative to compensate for Advans Ghana’s annual paper use, spread into different activities throughout the year. The most recent tree-planting activity took place at the Royal Seed Orphanage Home at Kasoa, where the trees will provide the home with food and revenues in the future. The MFI also made a donation of GHS 6,000 worth of items to the home.

Advans Tunisie plants trees and trains staff on recycling

On 24th November, on the occasion of the National forest week and in partnership with Dream in Tunisia and the Directorate general of Tunisian forests, Advans Tunisie launched a reforestation initiative in Zaghouan, in the northern part of Tunisia. Volunteers from various branches across the country as well as the Head office planted some trees together as part of the institution’s commitment to plant 350 trees in compensation of its 2019 paper consumption.

The IMF also held a two-day training on recycling at its new eco-friendly Head office aiming to raise awareness among its staff of environmental issues and promote everyday eco-friendly behaviour.
